Supporting the Backstage Tour for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu

When a project is tied to a global franchise, there is no margin for error — only execution.

Timelines compress, visibility intensifies, and execution has to be flawless.

Coffee House Industries, based in Los Angeles, was selected to support the Backstage Tour experience for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu — contributing to an environment designed to meet the demands of both visual storytelling and structural integrity at the highest level.

Building an Environment That Holds Up Close

This project demanded more than a compelling visual environment — it required a build that could withstand real-world interaction without compromise. Every surface, transition, and structural element was executed to perform under continuous use while maintaining a pristine, production-ready finish.

Scope included:

  • Custom-built display cases designed to house featured elements with precision
  • Fabricated prop stands engineered for stability and presentation
  • Full window covering systems to control visibility and maintain immersion
  • Vestibule construction to manage entry and separation from exterior conditions
  • Integrated lighting and visual effects support in collaboration with Nate Weber of 88 Twenty Group
  • Scenic wall systems and structural builds throughout the space
  • Engineering across all elements to ensure real-world performance and safety

Execution required tight coordination across creative, production, and technical teams — ensuring every component aligned seamlessly in both form and function. The result was a fully integrated environment that not only met the visual standard, but performed reliably in a live, high-traffic setting.

Execution Under Pressure

Projects aligned with major releases demand certainty at every stage.
Deadlines are immovable. Standards are uncompromising. There is no margin for error once installation begins.

Success is determined well before installation — through disciplined planning, coordination, and control.

That means:

  • Clear, fully detailed build drawings
  • Tight coordination across all disciplines
  • Materials and finishes that deliver exactly as specified
  • A fabrication process built to remove risk before it reaches the field

Because at this level, success isn’t determined on-site — it’s determined long before it.

A Space Built to Support the Story

From highly detailed cantina-style environments to hangar installations housing full-scale elements, the objective was consistency at every level.

Each space was executed to feel intentional, grounded, and authentic — not only visually, but in how it was built to perform.

Every component was designed and fabricated to be structurally sound, repeatable, and reliable throughout the experience — ensuring the environment held up under continuous use without compromising the integrity of the story.

From Concept to Completion

“Working on a project as iconic as this means every detail carries weight. It’s not just about how it looks, it’s about whether it holds up under real conditions. Being able to collaborate with such a talented team of artists toward a common goal made a big difference on this one. Their team was exceptional, and we’re proud of the work we delivered together.” – Eric Rasmussen

Being able to bring people into The Mandalorian, on an actual set, then blur those lines of storytelling as they move into our vault as one cohesive journey became an opportunity to rethink how lighting and technology can actively shape how guests feel, and continue that suspense of belief that this is more than a warehouse of props.
