What Is UV Roll Printing?

UV roll printing, also known as wide format inkjet printing, is a type of digital printing that uses ultraviolet (UV) light to cure or dry inks. As the name suggests, it is done using large format printers that can print on various materials such as vinyl, plastic, glass, metal, and more. The end result is a long-lasting, durable print that is resistant to fading and weathering.

UV roll printing is a great way to produce high-quality prints for both indoor and outdoor use. It is often used for billboards, signs, vehicle wraps, and other large-format applications. The main advantage of UV roll printing over other methods is the speed at which it can be done. With traditional methods such as screen printing or offset printing, each color needs to be printed separately, which can take days or even weeks. With UV roll printing, all colors can be printed at once, which cuts down on production time significantly.

How Does UV Roll Printing Work?
To understand how UV roll printing works, it helps to know a little bit about how traditional digital printing works first. Traditional digital printers use a process called “electrophotography” to print images onto paper. Using electrical charges to transfer images onto drums or plates, which are then used to transfer the image onto paper. The inks used in traditional digital printers are liquid-based and need time to dry before they can be handled or displayed.

In contrast, UV roll printers use a process called “ radiation curable inkjet technology” to print images. In this process, inks are solidified by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light. This makes them much more durable and resistant to fading and weathering than traditional inks. Because the inks are already solid when they are printed, there is no need for them to dry before they can be handled or displayed. This makes UV roll printing a much faster process than traditional digital printing.

If you need high-quality prints that are durable and long-lasting, UV roll printing may be the best option for you. It is a fast and efficient way to produce prints for both indoor and outdoor use. Due to the inks are already solid when they print, there is no need for them to dry before being handled or displayed. If you need high-quality prints quickly, UV roll printing may be the perfect solution for you.
